Normandy

Had a lovely, 9 sunny day's family holiday in Normandy during mid-August.

Didn't get in much birding, but always had the bins / camera close at hand. The accommodation produced a few Honey Buzzard sightings, a very vocal Zitting Cisticola, several Serin and a flyover Marsh Harrier.

Elsewhere, encountered a couple of flocks of White Stork, totalling about 15-20 birds, Cattle & Great White Egrets, Black Redstart (surprisingly hard to come by), Med Gulls and a few species of duck.

The local fishing harbour near Houlgate, at times held tonnes of large gulls, made up of plenty of Yellow-Legged, Herring and Great Black Backed Gulls, including a ringed adult from a Normandy-based scheme.
